Do you like playing Mario? Good! Then I have the perfect thing for you!
Now that I have your attention I'll go into this long winded summary of why I built this monstrosity. While I was redoing the Moonshadows guild hall, I came up with an idea for an obstacle course. Now I had a general normal obstacle course in mind...at that time. But then I got to thinking and I thought it might be fun to take that idea and make it bigger with the ability to actually be able to run a challenging course.
And so the Crimsonblade Pain and Fame Obstacle Puzzle was born.
I've spent a couple of weeks on this project. There's been a ton of frustration. Too many deaths to count and the maxing out of not one, but two characters safe fall. My bruiser was around 40 in safefall at the beginning of this project. He's now maxed at 365. I have tested and run this course millions of times myself. And half the time I've forgotten to put on a floaty cloak...
I will be opening this home to visitation sometime this weekend after a few more test runs.
You may bring any item that you think will help you on this course. Be sure to judge when best to use that particular item.
Here are a few tips:
- Floaty cloaks are good to have on hand, but they may hamper you during the course.
Spring-Loaded Gnomish Stilts may be good to have on hand, but they can hamper your jumps.
This course can be run with a minimum run speed of 30%. I do recommend having a bit more increased run speed for parts of the course.
There are some jumps where you will not want ANY run speed buff at all.
Running jumps are a good way to cross big jumps.
Jumping on the edge of items may help in some cases.
Some items may have a wider invisible barrier than others, but do not count on this to make your jumps.
Size may both hamper or help you.
There are built in safety nets, so if you fall, aim for one and you won't have to start all over again!
There are some portions of the course where there are NO safety nets.
There are built in cheats! And even some I may not know about.
Here's a few screen shots to show what you'll be up against.
Entry
There are a total of four of these buildings. Inside one of them is a short cut.
Some Tourist sights to be sure to see:
Phase Cube
Thor's Hammer
The Trampoline (Sorry no actual bouncing ability)
The Pain and Fame Bar
And of course the Four Shrines of Bristlebane pictured above.
Some screen shots of the course
And lastly, the goal.
For those who make it to the top, they get their name on the Wall of Fame!
For those who have tried and failed...they still get their name on a wall for all their troubles.
And there you have it! So who wants to have a go?
