Soulfire Bristlebane Day 2014

Name: Soulfireannex

Generally for Bristlebane Day I play some sort of prank on the owner, Euryale, and her patrons.  One year Layla and I filled the place with frogs.  Another year I turned EVERYTHING upside down and put it on the ceiling.  Last year we filled the place full of Meatbeasts.  This year I wanted to do something different.  I wanted to create a place that could be maintained without my help if need be.  So I decided to create a whole venue based on Bristlebane Day.

I started the project in March.  I had many different ideas at that time, but I ended up using completely different ideas.  This was a lot of fun to put together and I couldn't help but giggle everything I did something evil or just plain awesome.

I meant to snag a picture of the front of the main Soulfire venue, but I forgot to.  Patrons usually use the main Soulfire venue in Freeport to zone in and use a various portal to one of the Soulfire Annex venues during holidays and some events.  It has made redecorating a lot easier.  I never have to alter the main venue now at all.

I saved a billion layout files of the main hub and then I packed the entire club into the moving crate and moved the moving crate under the floor.  I positioned the Freeblood Estate portal in the middle of the front room with a couple if the Bristlebane Jokers and a Rivervale sign that read:

Dear Euryale,

I hope you don't mind,
That I took the time,
To redo your bar,
But have no fear,
For it has not gone far!
Come and join me Euryale, dear!

Love always,
Bristlebane

Let's have a peek now!  Here's the entryway.

Each room has a sign on it that tells you a little about the room!

I tried to think up the most hilarious thing I could use to make the bar out of.  There were lots of ideas, but I settled on pillows!

I even made the stage out of pillows!

You might have noticed that some of the chair-pillows have pink in the center.  Make sure you read the inside of the books!

Of course I had to do some things upside down.  The fish seem to have gotten free of their tanks!

Big fishtank - Though perhaps I should call it the Elephants Under Water Tank.

Second smaller fishtank.

Custom fireplace made from smokestacks and the goblin forges(I think that's the name of it.)

I think there's something wrong here...where's the feast??

Oh...I think I found it.

Er...this petting zoo is a little odd, but then this is Bristlebane!  I guess he likes to take care of his dice.  What do they eat?  Rice?

A Meatbeast is making fun of the dice since he doesn't have to be in a pen.

Because sometimes you just need a break.

Of course with the new Bristlebane Bouncers I had to use them in some way!

Bounce up and just follow the rainbow!

Woot!  We've found treasure!  Hang on...wait a second...That's not real gold!  Dangit Bristlebane!

Don't worry if you fall all you need to do is find the rainbow.

I apparently forgot to screenshot the last room.  I'll update with those screenshots as soon as I can.

The Maiden's Fancy 2014

As time goes on I have less and less desire to log into EQ2. The only thing that has kept me in game so far is decorating. But even that is getting tiresome so I wanted to update the venues that I work on and put everything I've got into them so they most like won't want a change for awhile. I'll always be able to come in and fix things, set holiday decor and such now that EQ2 is F2P.

There had been some complaints with the last decor I did on the Fancy and the criticism got so bad that even I couldn't stand to be in the hall or look at it. So a change was needed. It took me awhile to come up with a good idea and color scheme and it wasn't until the High Keep furniture came out that I really decided on the coloring, at least for the walls.

I didn't start the project until around the beginning of March. It was a slow process at first as I was limited on Bubinga Lumber. I bought out the broker numerous times. Some of the Raven Mythic people kindly donated what pieces they could and that was a real help.

I had some trouble on room placement and days were spent on just trying to figure out the layout of one room. Slipps and Layla both helped me figure out some of it. Finally I got really excited once the wall covering was done. No more needing to buy Bubinga(except for furniture...).

I put around 2000-3000 of my own platinum into this place. And it was well worth it. I never charge for community projects. I like to help where I can with what I can and this is where I am best at helping. Without further ado, here's some pics.

Entry - The tanks in the back will be different during each holiday as the plan is to change it to a display or some sort (Perhaps a Bounce House again for Brristlebane Day.)

Ceiling in the entryway.

The Bar

Part of what I wanted was to bring some of the old ideas from previous decor of the Fancy. One of those included a loft in the bar area. I used Misty tiles on the manager's office walls because I wanted it to be able to look down at the bar.

We don't really need a huge manager's office so it's a bit small. Perfect for the short manager Layla and the previous ratonga managers.

All of the walls and ceilings are made with the High Keep Long Tables. There are somewhere around 250 in the hall. I used around 300+ bubinga lumber for the high keep furniture. And it was worth it

Of course no Crimsonblade decorated venue or home is complete without the famous Cocoa Bunny Hot Drink Maker.

The kitchen along with the walk in cooler is hidden behind the bar for staff use only.

I felt that the High Keep furniture might blend in a bit in the kitchen. Plus the price of bubinga had gone up again and I needed to save on item count. So I used blue and white marble building blocks for the kitchen cabinets. I may go back and redo the upper cabinets in building blocks to free up those few item slots the cupboards take up.

The stage. The has always been a form of catwalk on the stage of the Fancy along with prime seats next to the stage. I believe an earlier version also used pillows so I thought I'd bring that back to the fold too.

The door from the stage allows performers to walk onto the stage without the use of a telepad. I used a swoosh curtain behind the pretty curtains so that people could stand right behind it. Plus it gives that whole curtain stage opening.

In the previous couple of versions of the Fancy there were skyboxes up top. I was going to do two, but I decided to do one big box so that the stairs wouldn't take up too much room.

There is an actual backstage now where performers can wait until they need to come out on stage!

The backstage (and the door to the left of the stage room) leads to the dressing rooms.

I put swoosh curtains on the dressing rooms too.

One of my goals was to take out the need for teleportation pads. The entry to the Member's are (Bank, Crafting, Travel) was cut off and blocked so that non-members could not access the area. Unless they used the telepad. So I unblocked the area and every room is accessible without a telepad. However there are telepads for quick travel.

This is probably my favorite area in the hall as the combination of the Sathirian Sarcophagus and the Stone Adoration building blocks looks really really good. Both flow very well with the High Keep furniture as well.

The Traveling and garden area. It was originally lined with hedge seeds, but now we have the rose hedges I decides to use those. I wanted to use the white ones but I didn't have enough so it was between the yellow and red and I liked them both so I used them both!

The Crafting, Bank and Broker area. I wanted a central area for the crafting that allowed crafters to use the writ guy without having to move from their crafting table. Makes for faster writs! The teleportation pad is also located on the end right section of the crafting unit.

I know some people have done something similiar and have buried the tables into the crafting counters, but I decided to go with adorable tiny tables instead.

The bank and broker. I set the Frostfell crafting stations to the left of the bank so they would not get mixed up with the other crafting tables.

And there you have it, The Maiden's Fancy 2014.
