Soulfire's Frostfell Winterland 2013

Name: Soulfireannex
Location: Lavastorm Winter Retreat, Freeport
Server: Antonia Bayle
Leaderboards: Not available for tour yet
Decorator(s): Neversea Crimsonblade

When holidays roll around, I run through and always make sure Soulfire is ready and nothing has gone haywire since the previous year. Before we had prestige homes I would decorate up the main tavern for that holiday. That was usually done over a weekend or overnight sometimes. But when prestige homes with portals came out it was much easier to put these holiday homes into an adjoining home. That also made it so I didn't have to work on these over a weekend if I didn't want to!

I haven't had a lot of time to dedicate to decorating or even EQ2 itself lately so I wasn't sure if I would be able to do a full revamp of the Frostfell tavern. I had wanted to do a new NOTD but never got a chance, so I started early on the Frostfell home.

Since I wasn't sure how long it would take and I wanted to make sure the tavern could still open I decided to build up the home into one of mine and move it all later. That work out great! I left the one up in my home and I may publish it later since Soulfire doesn't generally publish theirs on the leaderboards. I just need to figure out a title so as not to confuse people.

Anyway, I finished this the weekend before Christmas and just haven't had a chance to post it. I think this will be one of the homes that I will only need to add things to in the future which has been a goal of mine with Soulfire the past year. With it becoming increasingly difficult to log into EQ2, I want things I won't have to completely redo the next year.

Here's the previous year's Soulfire: Soulfire's Frostfell Winterland 2012

And here's this year's:

Entrance - I decided to go for a castle like look to go with what I did on the back area. As you can see, we've hired some Gingerbread men to guard Santa Glug's castle.

Hallway down to Santa's Workshop - I wanted to avoid using a telepad for transportation into and out of the tavern so I decided to cover up the stairs. At this point I was weary of item count, so I chose to do a ramp instead of stairs.

Santa Glug's Workshop

And here we have HEX or as he has been duded the Cocoa Bunny Automatic Toymaker 2000.

HEX even has his own mouse, a boot to reboot the universe with and his FTB which he cannot operate without.

All the toys are automatically taken to the Inspection Station through the handy conveyor belt.

Inspection Station - All toys are inspected before heading over to the Construction Station or the Wrapping Station.

Construction Station - While HEX does most of the work some toys do need to be assembled and constructed. It looks like we've got a choo-choo train waiting to be painted! As well as a dollhouse!

The Train

The Dollhouse--with Barbie and Ken included!

Wrapping Station - From there the toys are placed onto the conveyor belt and taken to the Wrapping Station.

The goblins have a very specific organizing technique.

The Winter Wonderland

Here we have the Ice Skating Rink or you could use it to go Ice Fishing! though I wouldn't do both at the same time. It's not very big.

The Bar - I decided that I didn't want to have the bar all cooped up inside. What better way to enjoy the enchanted snow and the nice warm Lavastorm weather?

The Frostfell Goblin Village - In the original Lalayla had built up some small elf houses. I wanted to keep those but expand on the idea a little bit.

You can walk inside the house, but I'd make sure to have a form of shrink on you just in case you might be an ogre. I have confirmed that a very tall wood elf can walk through these!

The Gingerbread Forest - It's said they come out only when the sun is down...or perhaps only when they smell their new brothers and sisters being cooked up...but either way, I'd not wander into the Gingerbread Forest at night.

The Frostfell Tree - I don't generally do Frostfell trees, but I decided that Soulfire should have one.

Santa Glug's Candy Throne - For many years brave Santa Glug's have sat upon the Candy Throne, but we all know who the true heir is: Big N' Furry.

The Clocktower - I started first on the Clocktower as that was something I decided I wanted in this home. Besides, we need to know when midnight strikes so we can get to bed before Santa arrives!

And there you have it, Soulfire's Winter Wonderland 2013!
